Just more bizarre things from around the web....

send something

If you've found something good, use this form to let me know.

the movies

'Mastercard - Indecent Proposal' - a spoof of the Mastercard advertising campaign: "Night on the town: $75....". Like skinny, this needs Windows Media Player. 15+

'Skinny' - an advert for low-fat tuna from Japan. You'll need Windows Media Player.

Kylie's Agent Provocateur advert as an MPEG. 15+

Parallel Parking. Big car, small space? This is the solution. Courtesy of Multimedian.

B*llocks. The VW Passat advert with cute kids saying rude words.

Pop Idol. One really terrible audition for the recent UK competition.

Kidstoned. Need extra help controlling your family?

Oddset Sports Betting. There's nothing wrong with a bit of good humoured national rivalry.

the animations

Destinys Child, courtesy of rathergood.com

The Mystery of Britney's Breasts, courtesy of Liquid Generation, is a fascinating documentary into the baffling phenomenon of Britney Spear's changing bra size. 15+

the places

These are some places that I like and think more people should know about (yes, free advertising!)...

Scooby's Diner, Kingsclere
There's no website yet, but it's a good simple 50's-style diner on the A339 between Newbury and Basingstoke. Open until 10pm.

The Harrow Inn, Little Bedwyn. Excellent food. Excellent Wine.

The Corner Cottage, Muker. If the link doesn't work search for property number 0914.

Brandon Bay Cottage. Maura O'Neill has a few cottages in Cloghane, Co. Kerry on the west coast of Ireland. Beautiful location and a very friendly local pub. Watch out for the Bass Protection League.

suffolk boy

Being a good ol' Suffolk boy, I think you need to see what it's all about.

SuffolkCam - simply a guy with a camera and some nice photos.

BBC Suffolk 360° Images - plenty of good, but slightly surreal Quicktime VR-like images. You'll need Java.

Webcams - yet more from BBC Suffolk. Not so sure about the cam showing the main hall at Suffolk College.

In Case of Emergency

Following yesterday's terrorist attacks in London, an email has been doing the rounds citing an idea by a Cambridge-based Paramedic...

"By entering the acronym ICE – for In Case of Emergency – into the mobile’s phone book, users can log the name and number of someone who should be contacted in an emergency. "

Simple and brilliant. Do it.

Whilst working in Shanghai we saw high quality designer clothing. This fine example was spotted in the queue to get into the Motorshow.

They do a vital job and I admire them for it, but Essex Fire & Rescue have the cheesiest flash intro to their website.

At least they didn't use Bonnie Tyler for the soundtrack.

A great Flash game from Flashcom... Remember those magnetic letters you used to stick on your fridge? Think of this as a web-enabled fridge in a house that has 50-odd bored housemates huddled around it. Courtesy of James

Right Said Severus

One for fans of Alan Rickman. Take a dodgy but rather catchy 90's single and a character from Harry Potter, throw in some flash and this is the result.

Ghyslain, a 15-year-old kid from Quebec went into his school's video suite, recorded himself doing some Star Wars moves, left the tape laying around and someone posted it to the web. The result was these videos.
